Community School Orientation and Education Support

RUF-N recently conducted an orientation on online violence and safety measures for 50 students from grades 8-12. This program significantly improved students' awareness of online safety, equipping them with knowledge to navigate digital spaces securely. Additionally, the distribution of reusable sanitary pads and educational materials enhanced the students' personal hygiene and academic preparedness, fostering a healthier and more conducive learning environment.

Leadership Training for Community Women on Feminism and Power Dynamics

We organized a comprehensive 3-day training session on patriarchy, power dynamics, and feminism for 30 women from the remote areas of Syangja. This training empowered the participants by providing them with the tools and confidence to challenge societal norms and advocate for their rights. As a result, these women are now better equipped to take on leadership roles within their communities, fostering gender equality and social change.

Local Government Audit on Gender-Responsive Budget and Gender Audit

In collaboration with local governments of Dhading, Nuwakot, Rasuwa, and Pyuthan, RUF-N conducted gender-responsive budget audits and Gender Equality and Social Inclusion (GESI) assessments. These programs involved all employees and elected representatives, leading to more inclusive and equitable governance practices. The audits and assessments highlighted areas for improvement, ensuring that budget allocations and policies better address the needs of all community members, particularly women and marginalized groups.

Emergency Relief Support to Disaster-Affected Community in Jajarkot

In response to the recent earthquake in Jajarkot district, RUF-N provided emergency relief support focusing on pregnant and child-bearing women. The relief packages included essential items such as sanitary pads, milk for breastfeeding women and children, and warm clothes. This immediate assistance helped address the critical needs of the affected individuals, promoting their health and well-being during a challenging time.

Youth Leadership and Empowerment on LGBTIQA+ Issues

We conducted a leadership and empowerment program for sexual and gender minorities in Waling, Syangja district, focusing on the challenges faced by the LGBTIQA+ community, including issues related to citizenship and community acceptance. This initiative provided a platform for open dialogue and support, fostering greater understanding and inclusiveness within the community. The participants gained valuable leadership skills and knowledge to advocate for their rights and well-being.

Day Celebrations

RUF-N observed and celebrated various significant days such as Child Rights Day, International Women’s Day, Human Rights Day, and Labor Rights Day. These events included consultations, demonstrations, and advocacy visits in collaboration with other organizations, raising awareness about crucial issues and promoting human rights and social justice. The celebrations served as a catalyst for community engagement and solidarity, reinforcing our commitment to these important causes.
